Existing Conditions Inventory

Information necessary for completing the technical aspects of the study was collected and organized, and used to (1) educate participants on existing air traffic control procedures, (2) quantify existing aircraft noise exposure, and (3) identify an appropriate project study area that includes communities potentially impacted by Boston traffic at or below 14,000 feet above sea level within at least 20 nautical miles from the airport.

• Airport Survey (pdf 3.5 mb) - Used to assist BOS/TAC members in identifying viable alternatives and effective use of noise metrics.
• Study Area - Used to set boundaries of the area to be studied.
• Massport's 2003 Environmental Data Report Aircraft Noise Model (pdf 4.9 mb) - Used by consultant team and participants to quantify existing aircraft noise exposure levels.
